Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Scouts BSA in the Miami Valley
Members of the Miami Valley Council of Scouts BSA gathered to camp on the shores of the Mad River in Ohio to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Scouting in the Miami Valley.
Despite the inclement weather, these young men and women proved that they were "prepared" for the elements. Our very own Bryan Waid was among the 1500 young people and adult leaders who spent the weekend at camp learning about principles of flight, rock climbing, kayaking, and crossing rope bridges.
In addition, Civil War history and the history WWI were brought to life by speakers wearing period clothing and displaying artifacts from those eras.
NASA brought the Lunar Rover (trainer) that was built for operation in Earth's gravity.
Bryan commented, "Every kid I talked with said they really enjoyed themselves. They were busy from the time they set up camp on Friday night until they broke camp on Sunday morning."
Joyce proudly celebrates this 100 year milestone, and we wish to express our appreciation to Bryan and the other leaders who are helping the next generation realize their full potential in the areas of leadership, character, and service to others.
